Comet and two DJ's

I know, I know, I keep saying Comet has retired. Comet went to this game on a whimsey. I'd come off of doing St. Louis and Racine, and I was going to this game to referee. Comet was stuffed in the back of the Tygermobile on the off shot I was going to be playing. It was in the plan, but wasn't in stone.

Some words about the game itself. It was a bennefit for the March of Dimes. We had gotten prizes donated by (in no order) JT Racing, Scott USA, National Paintball Supply, Perkins, and a lot of other places as well. Not to mention the radio DJ's that came out. The guys from Laser 101 and the country station (who's call sign I never got...) were great folks to know. (this page will be updated in the near future with all the info.) And we raised a whole lotta money for the March of Dimes. They're doing work in the area of birth defects. And it's very worth while.

Within the first few games I managed to get into the ref rotation to go play. And I asked around to see if Comet would be appropriate. Nobody gave me a definate "Go", but Ron, the owner of Run-N-Gun, said "Sure, that would be cool." So, Comet came out for one last go. I only wanted to play one game, and then ref the rest of the day. I couldn't afford to do much else (See Racine and St. Louis...)

I'll ignore the jeer section here, because it's all stuff I heard before. the game itself was uneventful. 10 minutes into a crawl and I got lit up. A mystery of paintball happened to me. Why do people scream "CHECK YOURSELF" and proceed to tripple their rate of fire making it impossible to do such a feat? I'll never know.

But the other eventful part of this game, at least to me, was the fact that in my crawl I managed to catch a thorn and ripped a hole the size of a silver dollar into the suit. So now there's no choice other than to make Comet v2.0. And I'm surprised the suit has lasted as long as it did, actually. Not bad for a flannel hide.

However, on the great side, we had almost 70 people at the event, and easily raised over $500 for the March of Dimes. That's cool.
