Welcome!
Late summer of 2001, the Winona Aeromodelers moved to a new flying field that was near the former Winona County Landfill. To make the site useable, a considerable amount of dirt was hauled in and leveled, grass was planted. Unfortunately, an extended period of hot, dry weather followed. Fortunately, the grass did come up and club members did considerable other work in preparing the field for fall flying.
Besides considerable time and effort from club members, the Winona Aeromodelers were blessed with generous contributions from local businesses and individuals, helping to make this a field they could be proud of.
In 2001, the Winona Aeromodelers were awarded a Media Award from the Radio Control Hobby Trade Association for the promotion of the hobby to the public at the Max Conrad Fun Fly.
Map to Flying Field - Members are normally there Wed. evening and Sunday afternoon weather permitting.
